About Soul Rhythms
When I started thinking about a name for this blog about faith, Soul Rhythms won out over several others that came to mind. For one thing, I like the sound of it, the flow of it. Faith is movement. It is not static. There is a pulse and a beat to active faith.
A few years ago, I would not have been so brave as to attempt to write about faith, a subject and a practice dear to my heart. My introverted nature and my insecurities stopped me many times from sharing what I have found to be a sustaining force in my life.
My faith is grounded in my belief in a sovereign God. And because it is, I have been able to survive some wild storms in my life and ride out some huge waves that could have taken me under. The inner rhythms of my life aren’t so erratic now. I still undulate between fear and faith, hope and despair, doubt and doing, but not nearly as much.
Soul Rhythms explores faith as it intersects with the ebb and flow of life. It is my hope that out of Soul Rhythms will come stories that inspire, encourage and challenge each of us to be better than we are right now. As I share my faith stories or my reactions to events occurring in the nation and the world through my faith filter, I hope also to hear from you. Share your own faith journey or respond graciously to something you read here.
As we put our faith into action, we can make a difference in the world.
