A few things for which I am grateful
While walking yesterday in the fall splendor at the National Arboretum, I was overcome with a feeling of gratitude. Lots of people, young and old, some pushing strollers and others with dogs on leashes, filled the park with life and laughter. I don’t remember seeing so many people at the Arboretum on previous visits. Beauty surrounded me.
After puffing up a hill, I stopped at a bench and a litany of thankful thoughts flooded my mind. I am sharing with you today the 10 things, among the many, many things, I am grateful for today.
- God who loves me and cares so much for me.
- A husband who knows me and still loves me despite of what he knows.
- Children who love the Lord and honor their parents.
- Children who call even when they don’t need anything.
- Parents who gave me more than money could ever buy – faith, hope and love to name some of their gifts.
- Brothers and sisters who love each and don’t argue with each other.
- Friends who cherish me even when my communication is spotty.
- Friends I treasure and can trust with my secrets.
- For an extended family filled with encouraging people.
- For moments in the day that take my breath away.
What’s on your gratitude list?
